One Day More!

This is it. I am writing this entry on my last day of work now that I have finally finished proof-reading the Press Dossier that I have been translating. I am flying tomorrow back home and to the reality of finding a job as I'm not going back to Bangor - no way am I doing a Masters, certianly not yet.

I cannot believe that my 3 months in Bordeaux is rapidly coming to an end, but I did at least have a good last week.

Last Sunday, I went to St Emillion for the afternoon with a few people from Ectarc. I'm glad it was only for the afternoon because it was BOILING!! I don't think it had ever been that hot since Spain. The only other thing that I didn't like about it, just to get the bad stuff out of the way, was the mahoosive, hazardous hill. It had a hand-rail, but not all the way along and that caused a problem because it was smooth, slippery cobbles. Thankfully, I didn't fall over but it might well  be safer walking barefoot rather than wearing shoes, and it would have been so easy to fall and at least sprain if not break your ankle
Anyway, other than that, it was a really good afternoon out. We went for a little tour of the town andwhich is really pretty, and of one of the crypts before (finally) going to a vineyard and having a guided tour of a château, followed of course by wine-tasting. Another little thing about St Emillion is that you have some insanely good macaroons there, as it is another thing they specialise in.
For anyone going to Bordeaux or the surrounding area, you HAVE to go on one of the many trips to châteaux/vineyards organised by the tourist office or other businesses in the area. I was lucky that we had a friend with us who worked at the tourist office and managed to get a reduced price for the rest of us, but you should have a look around to find the best deal. You will not regret it.

On Wednesday, we also had a "farewell" meal at one of the Regent bistros (duck steak and chips, yum!). I would have gone out for a drink afterwards if I wasn't so tired and had to work in the morning. Despite that though, it was a really good night and I was really happy that we could have one last outing together before we all went home.

So, as they say on Looney Tunes, that's all folks! Thank you for following me on my placement here, and hope to have more soon. I have a plan of writing short blogs about different cities that I have been to, so keep your eyes peeled
I'm going to end it on a couple of quotes that I find inspiring, some old some new, because... well... why not.

"The only thing predictable about life is its unpredictability"
Ratatouille
"No one is alone"
No one is aloneInto the Woods

And, now possibly from one of THE BEST SONGS IN MUSICAL THEATRE HISTORY PERIOD....

"Too late for second guessing,
Too late to go back to sleep,
It's time to trust my instincts,
Close my eyes and leap!"
